Green Hill Acres Association Guidelines

Information for Residents and Renters so All Can Enjoy our Community

Please abide by the following guidelines that have been established for our Green Hill Acres Association. We all share a small area that is densely populated. Let’s keep our community safe, secure and clean.

The speed limit on all roads is 10 miles per hour.
This is to ensure the safety of pedestrians, bicyclists, children and pets. It also serves to keep road dust down and preserve our roads. Obey all STOP signs. Non-registered motorized vehicles are prohibited on our roads.

Quiet time begins at 11PM.
All are asked to turn down radios, lower voices and turn off bright lights at that time.

Protect shoreline vegetation and nesting birds.
Do not contribute to erosion by excessive brush cutting or driving near the water’s edge.

South Kingstown has a leash law for dogs.
All are asked to observe this law and to clean up after your pets. Dog waste is a health hazard and can leach into the water table and the pond. We have two dog poop bag dispensers. They are located at the corners of Twin Peninsula and Brant and Twin Peninsula and Teal. Be attentive to this requirement (even if you think no one is watching!). It makes good sense. It’s the right thing to do. Dog poop is more than a nuisance. It stinks. It is a health hazard.

Do Not Litter.
Wild animals and wind can easily scatter rubbish. Be sure to secure garbage containers with sturdy closures. If you see litter, kindly pick it up and dispose of it properly.

DO NOT block fire hydrants. Cars must be parked off the roads.
There is NO PARKING allowed in front of the metal gate on Twin Peninsula.
Please do not block the boat launch area. Residents' boats must have identifying stickers which are available from the Association. Please notify us of boats without stickers.

Water shortages
Check with neighbors to see if there are any drought restrictions in place before washing cars or watering lawns. South Kingstown usually posts restrictions as you leave Route 1 north of Green Hill Beach Road.

Emergencies
Brush/Plantings/Trees should be cut back if they pose a hazard by blocking visibility at corners or if emergency vehicles would be hampered. All homes are required to have easily visible address numbers for identification by emergency personnel.

Suspicious or disruptive activity should be reported to the South Kingstown Police Department at 783-3321.
